not cancelled creates meaningful digital art events. It is an initiative that was born out of the necessity for viable digital options for art institutions that arose from the global closure of physical spaces. We want to support the art community by keeping audiences engaged and providing mid and long-term solutions to help galleries sell and promote art online in a sustainable way.
With not cancelled, we initiated a new and exciting format to experience art. Our one-week art week presents real-time live events – but on the web: virtual tours, live streams, interviews, artist talks, and making-of videos provide a look behind the scenes and into the studios of renowned artists and the art world in general.
After a successful launch in Vienna, we expanded our reach to multiple locations (Barcelona, Berlin, Brazil, Chicago, Dubai, Georgia, Italy, Paris, Netherlands, Serbia, Tokyo, Toronto, Turkey, Warsaw to name but a few), registered more than 100k visits and featured over 300 galleries (and counting)!
We designed and created the website, built a user-friendly self-service backend, and managed PR and social media. not cancelled gives the participating galleries reach and visibility in completely new target groups –and for the first time, online sales as well: via the possibility for interested parties to contact the participating galleries and request artworks directly, over 230 positions have been requested via www.notcancelled.art since its launch in April.
